Home to just a few properties now, Summer Haven is one of the oldest and most famous beach communities in eastern florida. It is a haven for nesting turtles, and a fantastic place to watch the sunrise. And at Afternoon Delight, you're just half a block from the beach!

Your first glimpse of Afternoon Delight reassures you that this is going to be a splendidly relaxing, fun vacation. The house is painted a sunny yellow, with a bright green front door, plenty of potted plants, and a nice front yard (with a driveway and big garage to keep your car out of the hot sun!). It feels like coming home, and we want you to make yourselves right at home from the moment you arrive.

You'll find 2 living spaces at Afternoon Delight: the living room, washed in soft warm tones and full of comfy sofas and chairs, and the family room, just as cozy but also sporting a big HDTV and a handsome fireplace. So if the grown ups want to chat while the kids watch a movie, no problem! And if you have a reader in the group who needs someplace quiet to curl up with the latest novel, the living room is just perfect, with sunlight spilling over the couch.

There are also 2 places to eat at Afternoon Delight, though you may find yourself taking a picnic to the beach or dining on the second-storey balcony more often than not. Our breakfast nook is a sun-washed room with a round table that may call out to the game players among you. (It's also a great place to set up the laptop; you have free wireless Internet at Afternoon Delight.) The formal dining room is a larger space but also cozy and full of windows. You'll just have to try them both!

Whether you're a gourmet cook or a takeout specialist, you'll love the kitchen at Afternoon Delight. The lovely polished cabinetry, granite countertops, and island sink don't really make the food taste better, but you sure feel like a professional as you whisk around in this designer paradise! Of course you'll find all the cookware, utensils, and dishes you need, along with those time-saving gadgets (microwave, blender, coffee maker) that get you out the door and onto the beach a little faster.

As luxurious and enjoyable as the living and dining spaces are at Afternoon Delight, it's the sleeping area that may really win your heart. All 3 of our bedrooms open onto the second-storey balcony, and each has its own bathroom. Add a garden tub to the mix and you have the ideal situation for long lovely evenings and late mornings -- the perfect vacation!

The master bedroom contains a queen-size bed, large TV, and en suite bathroom (home of the garden tub, which sports a private view of the treetops!). There is a walk-in shower as well. Pamper yourself to your heart's content in this suite!

The second bedroom also contains a queen-size bed and en suite bathroom, equipped with both a bathtub and shower. And the third bedroom, also with a queen bed, features a large TV and a convenient half-bath. All towels, linens, pillows, and blankets are waiting for you here at Afternoon Delight, and we've got a washer and dryer ready to take the dirty laundry off your hands.

And now the best part of Afternoon Delight: the location! You're less than 1 minute's walk from the beach here, and can hear the lulling sound of the surf from our balcony! The waves are sparkling and the sands wide and welcoming. This is the Atlantic coast of yesteryear, unspoiled and magnificent. Whether you want to boat, jet-ski, fish, surf, boogie board, play games, or simply sunbathe on our beach, you'll find it the perfect spot for all manner of fun.

Afternoon Delight is just south of St. Augustine, and within easy access of world-class golf, shopping, dining, and sightseeing. The possibilities for fun and relaxation are almost endless!
