The St. Augustine coast is home to many beaches and parks, including Crescent Beach, South Ponte Vedra, North Beach (Usina), Vilano Beach, St. Augustine Beach, Anastasia State Park, and Guana River State Park. Our beaches are family friendly, with spectacular sunrises, sparkling waves, clean sands, and beautiful views. The balmy temperatures here make year-round enjoyment of the beach a reality. Visitors are encouraged to swim, sunbeathe, beachcomb, sail, surf, and fish in the Atlantic Ocean, where dolphins and other marine life can often be spotted. In addition, St. Augustine is located on Anastasia Island, a barrier island separated from the mainland by the Intracoastal Waterway. The ICW, as it's called, offers another great source of water for calmer activities, from kayaking and canoeing to snorkeling.Anastasia Island is a wildlife refuge, and Crescent Beach is one of the best-kept secrets in Florida, a beautifully natural, unspoiled piece of coastline with wonderful views and gentle waves. Vilano Beach is also a local treasure, offering a fishing pier, watercraft rentals at Surfside Park, and many places for hiking and picnicking. St. Augustine Beach offers St. John County Pier, a pavilion, and areas for fishing as well as swimming and sunbathing.
