Our condo is in an elevator building just beyond the dunes of St. Augustine Beach, so the salty sea breeze and sultry Florida air caress you every time you step onto the balcony. And we predict you'll be spending quite a lot of time out here, gazing out at the waves or watching the kids as they frolic in the giant oceanview swimming pool below.

There is something so soothing about an ocean view, and you have a sweeping vista of sea and sky from Colony Reef 1407. Our living area continues the tropical theme, with white wicker furniture grouped around a new HDTV with HDTV cable, VCR, and DVD player. Looking to take a break from the tube? We have a first-class stereo system, too! There's room here for everyone, so plan a family night in to enjoy the simpler pleasures.

Our dining room is adjacent to the living area, with a big table that seats 6. It works well as a poker table too, and has seen its share of Uno matches. From the teens updating their Facebook status at one end to the grown ups enjoying a cup of coffee and a newspaper at the other, this table usually becomes the communication center of the condo -- the place people come to check in! You have free wireless Internet at Colony Reef 1407, so if you want to actually bring a laptop, feel free. But you may relish being "offline" for a while, too!

At the far end of the condo is our kitchen, compact and convenient. A stacked washer and dryer sit in one corner (help yourself!), while the L-shaped kitchen boasts all the appliances, gadgets, cookware, and dishes you'd need to prepare a feast. Even if you're determined not to touch a skillet this vacation, you'll appreciate how well-equipped and easy to use our kitchen is. And the coffeemaker, microwave, and toaster speed you out of the kitchen even faster!

While the living and dining area of Colony Reef 1407 is all about togetherness, the bedrooms emphasize privacy and quiet. There are 3, sleeping up to 6 altogether. The master bedroom contains a queen bed, HDTV, and an en suite bathroom that is absolute heaven. And the second bedroom has 2 twin beds & HDTV its own entrance to the second bathroom, making it a "semi-master" suite! The 3rd bedroom is the crow's nest and contains 2 twin beds & HDTV. It's a nice feature if you're traveling with another family.

The second bedroom contains 2 twin beds, as does the third, which sleeps a total of 2. What a great space for the kids -- their own clubhouse, with everyone together! Great beach-vacation memories will be made among the flying pillows and forts made of blankets!

The crowning glory of Colony Reef 1407 is its location. This condo complex is designed for nonstop fun and relaxation, from the 2 asphalt tennis courts (nicely maintained and always ready to go!), indoor racquetball courts, fitness center, sauna, indoor heated lap pool, hot tub, kiddie pool, playground, and of course the outdoor oceanview pool. Wow -- they really have thought of everything, and the whole group will be so entertained here, they may not want to venture out to explore!

But they should, for you are in the heart of one of the most beautiful areas of Florida. Historic downtown St. Augustine is just minutes away, along with great golf, shopping, and dining.
