Ocean Palms is beautifully landscaped, with an evergreen lawn, handsome brick pavers up the driveway and on the patio, and a fenced backyard. It's located on a quiet little street on the ocean side of the A1A, so there's no traffic to worry about. You can walk from the front door to the sugary sands of the beach in under a minute!

Indoors, you'll find a mid-century bungalow feel at Ocean Palms -- combined with the latest electronics and appliances, of course! This is a house that has seen a happy family grow up, and all the new bells and whistles just enhance the essential laid-back charm of the place.

The living room is tiled -- great on those hot "beach feet"! -- and furnished with a queen-sized sofa sleeper, easy chair, two walls of big windows, a palm-frond ceiling fan, and a 37-inch HDTV. Additional chairs mean that you can get the whole gang in here to play Scene It on TV or watch the big game . . . or you can take those extra chairs out to the patio for some before-dinner drinks. Informality is the style at Ocean Palms, along with easy comfort. Bring the kids' drawing paper and markers, Legos and Polly Pockets, and watch them flop down on the floor to play, instantly at home!

Adjacent to the living room is our kitchen, boasting stainless-steel appliances, wooden countertops and backsplashes, a dual sink, and a big dishwasher (we have our priorities in order!). Fill the fridge and cupboards with drinks and snacks, broil up the redfish and sea trout you catch in the ocean, or simply reheat the leftovers from Harry's Seafood in the microwave! You'll find all the pots and pans, dishes and glasses, and utensils you need in the kitchen, so whether you're cooking from scratch or dining out this vacation, you'll be fixed up.

The kitchen also contains a bistro table for 2, which we have noticed kids find irresistible. Plant the ankle-biters here with cereal and action figures in the morning, and let the grown-ups drift outdoors with their coffee and bagels, savoring another perfect Florida day!

There are 4 bedrooms at Ocean Palms, including one with an en-suite bath. The other 3 share the second full bathroom, which contains both a shower and tub option. All of the linens, towels, blankets, and pillows are provided for you here (even for the sofa sleeper!). Pack light and rest assured that everyone will get a great night's sleep at Ocean Palms.

The master bedroom offers a queen-sized bed and a 26-inch combination TV, DVD player, and VCR on a beautiful old armoire. A big window lets in sunshine or starlight, and the en-suite bath features a walk-in shower with attractive tiling.

The 2nd bedroom also contains a queen-sized bed, plus a 32-inch TV. Both of the other bedrooms contain 2 twin beds, with carpets and closets. This arrangement is just perfect for 2 families traveling together with kids, or for a multi-generational group!

It's not too glamorous, but you'll love the laundry room at Ocean Palms. Our washer and dryer keep all those swimsuits and beach towels fresh, and you're welcome to raid our stash of beach toys!

But your favorite place at Ocean Palms may wind up being the back patio, with space for casual dining and sunbathing. A gas grill stands ready for al fresco meals, and the combination of shade and sun is perfect for all weather. Bring your smartphone out here to check your email (you have free wireless Internet at Ocean Palms), your binoculars to watch the sea birds sail past, or your best friend to have a great talk over frosty drinks and salty snacks!
