Set back from the street in the North City district is Garden House, our Colonial-style brick house with plenty of room, a spacious lanai and patio, and a lovely garden. Convenient to the historic downtown and to Vilano Beach, it's a vacationer's dream!

Garden House is a two-storey red brick house on a quiet street and a big front yard that adds even more privacy to your stay. Off-street parking right in front of the house is available in our tree-shaded driveway. Within just a few minutes' drive of so many historic sites, great restaurants, and fine shopping, it's so convenient, yet it's also just down the road from the beach, and gives the impression of being nicely secluded!

Before you go inside the house, walk around to the back patio and take a look at the garden. We have a covered lanai with plenty of seating and gorgeous views, plus an outdoor patio overlooking the garden. Winding paths and interesting statuary mark the garden, which is green year-round and always lush. Whether you're a gardener, birdwatcher, or simply one who appreciates the serenity and beauty of a garden, you'll enjoy spending your early mornings and long, lazy evenings here!

The inside of the house is as pleasant as the outside. Our living room is gracious, with a fireplace and long windows as well as a complete entertainment center. You'll find a TV with DVD player and VCR here -- perfect for the kids to wind down after a busy day sightseeing or splashing in the water. And our comfy couch and chairs tempt you to linger here past bedtime.

Polished hardwood floors lead you into our dining room, a lovely area with a table set for 6 beside French doors. Even if you're dining out this vacation (and who can blame you? St. Augustine has fabulous restaurants!), you'll enjoy this room for those famous Monopoly battles and Texas Hold 'em marathons! You might also want to set up your laptop here -- you have free wireless Internet at Garden House, and this makes a good workstation for you to plan your next sightseeing adventure!

The kitchen at Garden House is well-stocked and convenient, with everything you need to prepare a homemade feast or just reheat the takeout. We have all the major and minor appliances, plus pots and pans, dishes, and utensils. No more making do with just a mini coffeemaker, like in hotels -- here you can cook and dine as you like!

The den at Garden House offers another place to socialize, or can be used as a third bedroom in case you're traveling with children or want a separate area. The couches make excellent beds, and there is plenty of space in here. Garden House contains nearly 2,000 square feet, so you have all the room you could wish!

There are 2 bedrooms upstairs. The master offers a queen-sized bed in a beautiful room with windows in 2 walls and a big TV. The second bedroom also sleeps 2, and a full bathroom is convenient to both. You'll find all the linens and towels you need for Garden House waiting for you here, plus a washer and dryer to keep them (and all your vacation clothes!) clean and fresh.

Between the big yards, the lanai, the living room, and the den, there are plenty of separate areas to enjoy here at Garden House. It's great to have a city house with so much space, plus all the vintage touches that make older houses so charming. You will love the easygoing character of Garden House.

Most of all, though, you'll appreciate its location. You're right in the heart of things here, able to reach most sightseeing venues in mere minutes. Vilano Beach is less than a 5-minute drive, so when you tire of the city (is that possible in St. Augustine?!), retreat to the white sands and sparkling waves of the Atlantic! The locals love this beach, which is free from crowds and very family-friendly.
