Traveling with Pets - Florida Dog Friendly Beaches
Florida Pet and Dog Friendly Beaches
Pet friendly dog beaches in Florida abound, including the famous Browhard Paw Park Dog Beach in Venice Florida. If you are staying in one of our Florida Pet Friendly Vacation Rentals, there’s sure to be a pet and dog friendly beach just a short drive away.
As seen in popular films like ‘Marley and Me’, Florida’s dog beaches are gorgeous places for your beloved pet to play, chase and swim.
Your resort or vacation rental may have walking trails and many of Florida’s towns and cities are famous for being pet-friendly, yet, the time together at the dog beach will make your vacation.
The scenery and regulations at dog beaches vary and, below, we’ve listed our favorite dog-friendly beaches in Florida.
Tips for Enjoying Florida's Dog Friendly Beaches
Ensure a happy vacation for you and your dog.
- Rules differ for each dog beach - some are only open in the mornings and evenings
- Some Florida dog beaches require permits and we have omitted these from our list
- Make sure to clean up after your pet and bring your own bags - steep fines are in place
- Try to call ahead and confirm that the dog beach is open. We do our best to keep this list current but municipal regulations can change suddenly.
- Bring plenty of water for your dog! Drinking salt water will make them sick.
- Chat to fellow dog owners! Dog owners are known to be the friendliest people and you’ll enjoy the added bonus of meeting locals, getting their insight and picking up some great tips on things to do.
